EuroPsy and the Qualifications Directive (2005/36/EC)

  • Directive 2005/36/EC regulates the recognition of professional qualifications in the European Union.
  • The profession of psychologist is included in the “general system”. Psychologist who wish to practice in another EU Member State need to obtain recognition of their qualifications with the Competent Authority of that country.
  • As a “Professional Card” issued by a representative professional association at the European level (EFPA), EuroPsy is meant to facilitate the evaluation process by the Competent Authority.
